Raffle prizes

JAY – Organizers of a benefit supper for Ray Pineau, who is recovering from a stroke, have compiled numerous raffle prizes to be awarded at the meal.

A variety of gift certificates from local businesses along with items such as 50 gallons of #2 heating oil, tanning packages, a stained glass lantern, a free oil change and other items will be raffled.

The lasagna meal will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Jay High School cafeteria.

Advance tickets, 50/50 and raffle tickets are available at the Jay Town Office prior to the meal. Prizes may also be seen at the town office. For more information, call the Jay Town Office at 897-6785.

Benefit supper

FARMINGTON – A public spaghetti supper to benefit the Syncopations trip to London will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall. Prices are $20 for a family, $6 adults and $4 for seniors and children.

Exhibit opening

TURNER – An open house will be held at the ArtMess studio-gallery from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, introducing new work by Jonathan Mess.

A new body of work has emerged from Mess over the past six months. The walls are full of new mixed media sculptural paintings with titles such as “Farm Saints,” “Communication” and “One Thing Leads to Another.”

There will be hors d’oeuvres and live music performance. The studio is at 22 School House Hill Road in back of the Hearth and Crickett Mill.

GOP caucus

STRONG – S. Niles Yeaton, Strong Republican Committee chairman, has invited all registered local Republicans to caucus at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Forster Memorial Building.

Delegates and alternates to the Republican State Convention will be elected. The convention will be held on May 5 and 6 at the Augusta Civic Center.

Other business will include the organization of the local committee and the nomination of members to the Franklin County Republican Committee.

Group meeting

FARMINGTON – A Community Bereavement Support Group is available for anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one. The group meets every other Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Holman Parish House, located next to Old South Church. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 15. All are welcome.

Plan talent show

LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls Middle School is making plans to host a talent show in the school gym on Friday, March 31.

Community members of all ages are invited to share their talents of dance, theater, music or comedy. All auditions will be held at the middle school and all participants are expected to attend.

Registrations

READFIELD – Readfield Elementary School kindergarten registrations have been scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays, March 20 and 27. The registration is for parents planning to enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2006-2007 school year.

To be eligible to start school, a child has to be 5 on or before Oct. 15. Parents will need to bring the child to be registered, his/her birth certificate and immunization records. Call Sherry Williams at the school office for an appointment at 685-4406, ext. 0.
