LEWISTON – Joseph P.G. Carlo, 81, of Booker Street, Lisbon Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by family, after a short illness.

He was born in Lewiston, Sept. 15, 1924, the son of Joseph A. and Claudia (LeCombe) Carlo, he was educated in Lewiston. He then served in the United States Army in World War II and Korea, with 775th Tank Battalion.

He was married to the devoted love of his life, Pauline Jutras, who predeceased him on Nov. 4, 1986. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 2358, he was past grand knight and faithful navigator. He was also a member of the Fourth Degree Rev. Leo J. Bourque Assembly, American Legion Post 66, Slovak Catholic Association, St. Mary’s Cadets, Holy Trinity Parish and numerous other social clubs. He enjoyed going out to eat, history, current events, politics and had a great love of life and friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida.

He is survived by many cousins, including Martha Marsh and Alfreda Carbonneau, both of Lewiston.

Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his parents.
