GREENWOOD – Mt. Abram resort will host U.S. Ski Team Day, a promotional event to benefit team athletes, Friday, Feb. 10.
The program will take place at more than 65 alpine and cross-country ski areas across the nation. All participating resorts will donate $1 per lift ticket or track pass sold that day to support U.S. Ski team initiatives.
“We are thankful for Mt Abram’s support. U.S. Ski Team Day will provide an outstanding opportunity for skiers in Western Maine to celebrate our sport during the Olympic period, and to help the athletes of the U.S. Ski Team to be Best in the World’ in 2006,” said Bill Marolt, president and chief executive officer of the U.S. Ski Team and a former Olympian.
“We’re thrilled to be a part of the U.S. Ski Team Day,” said Susan Burns, general manager of the resort. “Mt Abram has a long-standing tradition of ski racing, and through efforts like these, others can take part in the successes of the U.S. Ski Team.”
The U.S. Ski Team, governed by the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, the national governing body of Olympic skiing, fields and maintains teams of world-class athletes for national and international competition, including the Olympic Games.
