BANGOR (AP) – A doctor who admitted he assaulted a federal officer at a Houlton border station will spend 15 days in jail.
A federal judge also ordered Dr. Henry John Fisk on Thursday to take anger management counseling and provide 600 hours of community service work at a rural health center in Danforth, U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby said.
The case stems from a September 2005 incident when Fisk was driving through the border port of entry at Houlton.
Fisk verbally abused and brandished a rock pick at a Customs and Border Protection officer after Fisk refused to report to a separate area of the Houlton Port of Entry for a secondary inspection, according to court documents. He pleaded guilty to the assault charge.
The investigation was conducted by the Homeland Security Department.
