THE GREAT ONE: Hockey great Wayne Gretzky, now coach of the Phoenix Coyotes, was caught on tape discussing his wife’s involvement in a gambling ring allegedly run by Coyotes assistant coach Rick Tocchet, a source said.

CHARGES: Neither Gretzky nor his wife, Janet Jones, has been charged with crimes. Tocchet and two New Jersey men were charged this week with running a gambling ring.

WHAT’S NEXT? Lawyers for the three men said they’ll fight the charges. They are scheduled to be arraigned in Superior Court in Mount Holly on Feb. 21. The criminal investigation and one commissioned by the NHL are continuing.
