SOUTH PORTLAND – Boating Industry magazine, a 76-year-old business publication serving the marine industry, has announced its inaugural Top 100 Dealers, a national ranking of marine dealers based on overall business operations, customer service, marketing and professionalism.

Port Harbor Marine, a family-owned and operated business based in South Portland, was ranked 13th in the national industry ranking. The honor was announced at a formal event in Las Vegas, where owners Bob and Joanne Soucy accepted the award.

Bob Soucy is a Lewiston native, who attended both Lewiston High School and St. Dom’s.

Port Harbor Marine received special recognition for its service strategy, which aims to personalize the service experience for customers. Technicians are matched with customers for compatibility and encouraged to develop a relationship of trust and loyalty. Customers can communicate directly with the individual in charge of repairing their boat.

Soucy taught marine sciences for 12 years at Southern Maine Vocational Technical Institute before purchasing Port Harbor Marine with a partner in 1974.
