The L-A Commission on Joint Services Monday night will present the results of more than a year of work.

Its mission: To look at ways Lewiston and Auburn can work together to provide better services and save money.

The exhaustive process began in October 2004 when the city councils of the two cities passed resolutions establishing the commission. Building on the work of L/A Together, which had a similar mission during the 1990s, the Commission on Joint Services will lay out its recommendations for enhanced cooperation.

On Monday, the commission will meet with a joint session of the Auburn and Lewiston councils at 6 p.m. in Auburn Hall.

For residents concerned about the future of the Twin Cities, regionalization and good government, the meeting is a must-attend.
