LEWISTON – Louis P. Rossignol, 84, of 214 Farwell St., Lewiston, died Friday, Feb. 10, at d’Youville Pavilion after a long illness.

He was born in Frenchville on Feb. 8, 1922, the son of Ernest and Laura Rossignol. He was educated in Ste. Agathe schools.

He moved to Lewiston in 1942, where he was a shoe worker most of his career and was employed at Clark Shoe of Auburn before retiring.

On Dec. 29, 1945, he married Marthe Dubois.

He was a disabled Army veteran of World War II, having served with the 10th Armored Division in the European Theatre in Germany, where he was severely wounded. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.

He was a past member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus Council No. 106. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and Holy Family Church.

Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Odette) Therrien of Lewiston, Mrs. John (Constance) Langevin of Naples, and Mrs. Joe (Monique) Villers of Sunipee, N.H.; four granddaughters, Mrs. Christine Dubois of Auburn, Mrs. Alan (Lori) Aliberti of Topsham, and Samantha Cady and Alexandra Villers of Sunipee, N.H.; one great-grandson, Quinlan Dubois, and one great-granddaughter, Paige Dubois, both of Auburn; and nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Armand, Albert and Yvon Rossignol; and four sisters, MarieAnge Anderson, Cecile Long, Rose Gagnon and Irene Sirois.
