ORONO (AP) – Jamar Wilson scored 20 of his game-high 30 points in the second half Saturday night as Albany survived a scare to beat Maine 87-73.

The Great Danes (16-8, 11-2 America East) led 41-33 at halftime, but watched that lead evaporate midway through the half when the Black Bears (9-14, 4-8 America East) surged to a 48-46 lead.

The game went back and forth until Albany went on a 15-2 run late in the game for a 74-62 lead. The Black Bears didn’t get closer than seven points the rest of the way.

Wilson was 9-of-19 from the floor 9-of-11 from the line.

Kirsten Zoellner chipped in 17 points for Albany, Jason Siggers 13 and Levi Levine 12.

Ernest Turner led four Maine players in double figures with 16 points. Freddy Petkus and Jon Sheets each added 15, and Chris Bruff had 13 points.
