Seniors dinner

OXFORD – The Lake Thompson Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Market Square Restaurant in South Paris. Dinner will be chosen from the menu. There will be a cakeless bake sale, with proceeds to help pay for the seniors’ annual summer trip. Bingo will be played if time permits. New members and guests are welcome.

Book discussion

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Public Library is participating in “One Book – One Community” this winter. The book is “Suburban Safari” by Maine author Hannah Holmes.

The discussion group, headed by Jeannette Baldridge, will meet on Wednesday evenings at the library. Librarian Pat Makley said the book may be purchased for $5 at the library. For more information, call 674-2004.

Grange concert

WOODSTOCK – Franklin Grange 124 will sponsor a Cabin Fever Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, presented by Bill Rice of Woodstock at the grange hall. Woodstock will share gospel, bluegrass, old-time and folk music. All proceeds will benefit Franklin Grange 124.

Legion supper

WEST PARIS – The Ring-McKeen Post 151, American Legion, and Auxiliary will meet at the Finnish-American hall on Maple Street, on Tuesday, Feb. 28, with a 6:30 p.m. potluck supper followed by a meeting. Servicemen home from Iraq are welcome.

Klondike Event’

WEST PARIS – This year’s “Klondike Event” will be held on Friday, Feb. 17, at the Agnes L. Gray School grounds and on Derby Hill. For more information, call the school at 674-2332.

Church meeting

WEST PARIS – Mary Walls has been substitute pianist at the Mission Congregational Church, during the absence of the regular pianist, Mary Alice Standard. Walls has played her flute on several occasions.

The church will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. There will be a potluck luncheon at the church following the service on Sunday, Feb. 19.

Pastor Linda Kimball will be on vacation from Feb. 22 to March 3. Tom Standard will be guest speaker on Sunday, Feb. 26. It was voted to install new lighting in the dining room at the church.

Bridge play

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Bridge Club met Feb. 10 at the Fare Share Market, Main Street, when a two-and-a-half table Howell movement was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Pete Cummings and Dick Allen; second, Paul and Barbara Beegel, who also finished first in Flight B; second in B, Bev Dolan and Bev Pelletier. All bridge players are welcome; a partner is guaranteed.
