I commend Liz Chapman on her column Feb. 6, “Baldacci by the numbers.” It was the most succinct and understandable column I have read so far on why Gov. John Baldacci is losing – has lost – the support of our citizens. Smoke and mirrors never work.

On another note, I am personally very intrigued with John Jenkins’ entrance into the race for governor and look forward to hearing further from him. I share his concern for the state of the state.
