Mexico – Ronald E. Woods Sr., 69, of Porterbridge Road, died Monday, Feb. 13, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Nov. 27, 1936, in Mexico, a son of John and Faith Woods, and was educated in local schools.
He was employed for many years with Diamond Match Co. in Peru.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are a daughter, Donna L. Archibald and companion, James Thompson, of Eliot; two sons, Ronald E. Woods Jr. and wife, Holly, of Peru, and Dr. Russell G. Woods and wife, Jeanine, of Safford, Ariz.; three sisters, Lyra Allard and husband, Robert, of Rochester, N.H., Joyce Patenaude of Turner, and Tamar Brown and husband, Reginald, of Florida; five brothers, Doyle Woods and wife, Marie, of Rumford, Wayne Woods and Lilo of California, Carroll Woods of California, Leslie Woods of Rumford, and Mark Woods of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Amber, Crystal, Eric, Nathan, James, Matthew, John, Amanda and Brendon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, John Woods, and Barry Woods.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to his nephew Matthew Patenaude for all he has done for his uncle during his illness, and also a special thank you to the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.
