AUBURN – David E. Wilson, 66, of Poland, died Monday, Feb. 13, at the Hospice House surrounded by his family.

He was a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all.

He was born in Augusta on May 31, 1939, the son of Fred and Myrtle Wilson. He attended Augusta schools and graduated in 1963 from the University of Maine at Orono with an engineering degree. He worked most of his professional career at Southworth Machine Co. retiring in the spring of 2005.

He was active in his community, volunteering his time at the local church, school committee and historical society. He was also a member of the Excelsior Grange No. 5. He loved his small farm and spent his summers haying and growing fruits and vegetables. He also fulfilled his dream and restored a Model A car with his son that he drove in local parades.

He was survived by his wife of seven years, Sandra (Arsenault); father of five children, Donald, Liza, David, Suzette and Julie; 16 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was also the much loved big brother of five siblings.

He was predeceased by his mother and father.
