LEWISTON – Dale L. Osgood, 54, of Poland, died peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on Feb. 13, with his family at his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born May 14, 1951, in Bridgton, a son of Opal A. and William “Tinker” Osgood.

Dale entered the U.S. Navy in 1971, serving 24 years and attaining the rank of chief petty officer. He was very proud of his military service and received many special awards and commendations.

Dale was past commander of Amvets Post 13 in Durham, as well as a member of the American Legion. Motorcycling was one of Dale’s favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and ATV riding.

Surviving are his wife of 26 years, Mary (Constable) of Baltimore, Md.; three brothers, Gerald Burnell of Denmark, William L. Osgood of Bridgton and Kim Osgood of Gray; his sister, Elizabeth Graffam of Georgia; his stepdaughter, Donna Marie Killduff of Pennsylvania; his stepson, Donald Constable of Millers, Md.; his brother-in-law, Michael Ryan of Dallastown, Pa.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
