BRUNSWICK – The Bowdoin College Department of Theater and Dance will present “Check-Off,” a collaborative evening based on the works of Anton Chekhov, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23, 24 and 25, in Memorial Hall, Wish Theater.
The show features Chekhov’s classic comedic monologue “The Harmfulness of Tobacco” directed by Theater Department lecturer Sonja Moser in collaboration with lecturer Paul Sarvis; the one-act “The Brute” (or “The Bear”), directed by Moser; and an adaptation by American playwright John Guare of “The Talking Dog,” a Chekhov short story, directed by Joan Sand in collaboration with professor of dance June Vail.
