BANGOR – Farmington resident Travis Farmer faces a possible sentence of 10 years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to possessing child pornography, U.S. Attorney Paula Silsby announced.
Farmer, 25, also faces a maximum fine of $250,000 for uploading child porn to the Internet in November 2003.
According to court records, U.S. Customs agents visited Farmer’s residence on Nov. 21, 2003, after being tipped off by Pennsylvania agents that someone at Farmer’s residence was uploading illegal images of children.
Farmer turned over two computers at the time, Silsby said in a prepared statement Friday.
One month later, customs agents seized a wide assortment of computers and digital storage media, together with two hard drives hidden in Farmer’s garage, while executing a search warrant.
Silsby said more than 100 sexually explicit images of children were found on the computers’ hard drives.
Farmer was indicted in November 2005.
