LEWISTON – Frederick W. Chase, 63, of Prospect Avenue, Lewiston, died early Friday morning, Feb. 17, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with his family at his side.

He was born in Willimantic, Conn., on Dec. 1, 1942, a son of Stephen and Hazel (Thurlow) Chase. He was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of that community.

On Jan. 15, 1987, he married the former Anita Caron.

He worked as a truck driver all his life until he was forced to retire due to ill health. He was first employed for a time at Cornwall Wood Products, later for a number of years at Morin Brickyard, and then at Grossman’s Lumber.

He was a member of Downeast Rod of Maine and AARP. Among his favorite enjoyments were camping, fishing, driving and working on street rods and model trains.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Chase, of Lewiston; a daughter, Stephanie Burnham and husband, Matthew, of Rumford Point; four grandchildren, Jessica Robichaud, Joseph Robichaud, Kourtney Burnham and Emily Burnham; a brother, Bob Chase and wife, Ida, of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Jackie Brewer and husband, Ed, of Brunswick; and two step-grandchildren, Matthew and Renee Richard.
