I wanted to applaud Dianne Russell Kidder for her featured article Feb. 12 titled “Secrets of the heart.” What a great way to promote one of the greatest of Hallmark holidays. With so much negativity and bad news these days, we shouldn’t wait for Valentine’s Day to “spread the love.”

The article was a great reminder that we should be honoring our loved ones daily with kind words and respect. But why stop there? Extend these actions to your friends and co-workers. Why not turn a negative situation into a positive one? Promote a more pleasant work environment through good communication and humor. Lots of humor. Keep it light.

I challenge everyone reading this: Go by those couples’ examples and live a more positive and happier life. After all, isn’t it eaiser to accomplish something if you approach it positively?

Kudos to Kidder for using the ink wisely by writing something positive and worthwhile.
