TURNER – Residents are invited to join the Dirigo Vintage Baseball Club and experience vintage baseball.
The club will have an indoor practice on Saturday, March 11, open to area base-/softball players. It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Boofy-Quimby Memorial Center, Route 219, North Turner.
The Dirigo club is a member of the New England Vintage Baseball League and the Vintage Baseball Association (www.vbba.org/).
During its first season, the Dirigo Nine will play in a round-robin tournament in Massachusetts on Saturday, May 13. On Saturday, June 17, the club will play two matches (games) with the Essex Baseball Club in Freeport, hosted by the Freeport Historical Society.
The club will be happy to play demonstration matches (games) with area men’s softball teams.
