DIXFIELD – Ludden Memorial Library’s new automation system, Minerva, is in full operation. The new system will allow anyone with a library card to check his or her patron record, renew or requests books from the library or other Minerva libraries from a home computer from the Minerva home page at http://minerva.maine.edu/.

After finding the book or item being sought, click on the request button at the top of the page. The computer will prompt the user to enter name and barcode number, which is the 14-digit number on the blue library card. Click on “submit” at the bottom of that page.

Patrons may also requests items from other libraries in the same way by changing the search to “All Minerva Libraries” instead of “Ludden Memorial Library.” The patron will be asked where he or she would like to pick up the item and should select Ludden Memorial Library at that point.

To renew books, click on the “patron record” button from the Minerva page, enter name and barcode number. From there, click on the submit button to see a record of what is out, then click on the item to be renewed.
