Network lunch

BRIDGTON – An ElderNetwork lunch will be held at noon Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Bridgton Community Center. Those who are a provider of services to the senior community are invited share services, ideas and questions with other service providers.

A light lunch will be provided, and donations wil be accepted. For more information, contact Carmen Lone at 647-3116. ElderNetwork is a program of the Lake Region Healthy Communities Coalition and the Bridgton Community Center.

Walking program

NAPLES – Mondays and Fridays a Step Into Fitness indoor walking program is held from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lake Region High School. All ages and abilities are welcome. No special equipment is required. For more information, contact Bea Macdonald at 647-3212. Step Into Fitness is a program of Healthy Options Together/Healthy Maine Partnership, Lake Region High School and the Bridgton Community Center.

Sunshine Club

CASCO – The Sunshine Club of Webbs Mills will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at the Crescent Lake Community Center on Route 11. New members and visitors are welcome. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Carmen at 647-5705.

The Sunshine Club will hold its monthly public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Crescent Lake Community Hall. The menu will include homebaked beans, salads, American chop suey, cornbread, homebaked pies and beverage. Cost is adults, $6; under 12, $3; under 5, free. Society meeting

LOCKE MILLS – The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at the society building. Members should note the change in time for the meeting. Cubby Swan will do a program on handmade wooden toys.

Ash Wednesday

LOCKE MILLS – The Locke Mills Union Church will have an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 1. Everyone is welcome.

Prayer service

BETHEL – World Day of Prayer will be celebrated at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church, Walkers Mill Road, at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 3. Snow date is March 10. Luncheon will follow.

This year’s theme is “Signs of the Times,” a service written by the women of South Africa. Representatives of area churches will participate in the service, including Rosemary McLean, Rosabelle Tifft, Lou Prado, Carolyn Gould, Amy Davis, Maggie Ring, Jane Hosterman, Barbara Mahler, Musa Brown, Virginia Walker, Gerry Shimamura, Angela Haines, Gwyneth Bohr and Susan Hurlihey. Ruth Silver will play the organ.

New bridge club

HARRISON – Church Women United will sponsor a World Day of Prayer program, “Signs of the Times,” at 9:30 a.m. Friday, March 3, at Harrison Calvary Church. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
