LEWISTON – The American Cancer Society Daffodil Days campaign begins March 22. Orders can be placed by contacting the society’s Maine office at 800-464-3102, press 3, or 373-3701.

The daffodil is the flower of hope for cancer patients and their families. Purchasing daffodils for friends, neighbors, customers and employees can brighten their days, desks or dinner tables. Contributions received through the sale of daffodils help to keep the society’s resources in place for those in Maine communities who are or have been affected by cancer.

Daffodils are available in bouquets of 10 flowers for $7. Or for a donation of $20, the Gift of Hope is a bouquet of 10 daffodils arranged in a glass vase and given as an anonymous gift to cancer patients or others in need. Flowers R. Hope, a special Boyds Bear designed for the American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days, can be ordered for a donation of $25 and includes a 12-inch tall plush bear and a bouquet of daffodils.

To order daffodils or volunteer to help pack, sort or deliver daffodils, call the society’s office at 800-464-3102, press 3. Daffodil Days take place during the week of March 21 in the Lewiston/Auburn area. The deadline for ordering is March 3.
