FARMINGTON – Literacy Volunteers of Franklin and Somerset Counties will sponsor a movie at Narrow Gauge Cinema on Sunday, March 12. The movie, “Capote,” starring Phillips Seymour Hoffman, will be shown at 1:30 and again at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $5 and may be purchased in advance at Mickey’s, Twice Sold Tales, the Adult Education Office and Devaney, Doak and Garrett in Farmington.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the shows.
Proceeds will be used to train volunteer tutors to help adults improve their literacy skills on a 1-to-1, confidential basis. In addition, volunteers also support family literacy programs, train teen tutors to assist their peers and younger students, and provide readers in schools and nursing homes.
