OXFORD – A retirement party will be held Thursday evening, March 9, for Ron Kugell, Oxford’s longtime police chief who recently announced his retirement effective March 15.
Kugell, 72, has served as chief of the Oxford Police Department for more than 47 years. He started with the department in 1959 and became chief in the early 1960s. He brought the department from an all-volunteer force to a paid department with four full-time officers. He serves as a volunteer.
The party will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Four Seasons restaurant on Route 26 in South Paris. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and there will be guest speakers from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
