STRONG – Nomination papers are available from the town clerk for a special town meeting election.
Selectmen have approved a shorter process than the regular 85-days nominating process to fill two vacancies on the selectmen board, Strong Town Clerk Eunice Shurtleff said Wednesday. The town has its annual town meeting election scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday, March 3, in the Forster Building where two selectmen are to be elected for three-year terms. There is one candidate for these positions. A special town meeting election will be held Tuesday, March 28, to elect two more selectmen for one-year terms to fill the remainder of two selectmen’s terms.
The nomination papers are available from Shurtleff. She can be reached at either 684-4594 or 684-4005. Nomination papers with the required 25 signatures must be returned to the clerk no later than Tuesday, March 14.
