LIVERMORE FALLS – The town manager received the go-ahead from selectmen to have local artists display their work in the town office.
But the art gallery will have to wait until the large plate glass window blown out by a severe windstorm last month is fixed, Town Manager Martin Puckett said Wednesday.
The first artist to display her work will be photographer LeeAnn LaFleur of Livermore Falls, he said. Her show will feature people and scenes from around the world as well as local people and scenes, LaFleur said Thursday.
Puckett hopes that others will want to sign up to show their work throughout the town office, he said.
Before the window is fixed, Puckett said, selectmen have asked him to get an artist’s rendering of the different window options to see what would go well with the brick municipal building.
Selectmen have received bids for for replacing the broken window with a range of styles and costs.
The board also discussed the need to replace all the single-paned windows with energy efficient ones after it was discovered they leaked.
