Norway – Edwin Clarence “Ted” Kimball, 79, of Norway died Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Otisfield on April 14, 1926, the son of Frank and Bertha Edson Kimball. In his younger years he worked for the state of Maine plowing on Route 117 in Harrison to Route 302 in Fryeburg. He later worked at A. C. Lawrence for over 20 years and then was a salesman for various car dealers for many years.
He retired from Elan where he worked part time security. He loved to travel and trade cars. He enjoyed spending time with his family and precious cat, “Dollie.”
He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the VFW. He married Ruth Brown on Aug. 17, 1946.
He is survived by his wife of South Paris; a son, Steve and his wife, Beverly, of Norway; two daughters, Sally Anne Blankenship and her husband, David, of Wasilla, Alaska and Rachel Coburn and her husband, Jerry, of South Paris; two grandsons, Chris Kimball of Norway and Christopher Blankenship of Wasilla, Alaska; a sister, Gladys “Dee” Cousins of Otisfield; several nieces and nephews; and many good friends.
He was predeceased by two sons, Stanley Roy and Edwin C.; three brothers, Clarence, Cliff and Ernest; and six sisters, Leona, Blanche, Ruby, Bernice, Dorothy and Nellie.
