WINDHAM – Gordon E. Mains, 72, of Newhall Road died on Thursday, Feb. 23, at a local hospital.
He was born in Windham, Nov. 3, 1933, a son of Harry and Grace (Berry) Mains. He was educated in the Windham school systems and then he enlisted in the U.S. Army.
For 30 years he was employed as a machinist at Southworth Machine and then for several years at EDM Co. before retiring.
His hobbies included working on cars, cutting wood, as well as NASCAR racing. He was married for 50 years to Marilyn Brown, who survives him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Leslie Mains, Patricia Black, and Carol Arsenault; his sisters, Wilma, Hazel, and Barbara; a brother, George Henry; and grandchildren, Leslie Jr., Jarek, Brandon and Ariana.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, John; a sister, Helen Mains; and brothers, Linwood Mains, and Harry Mains Jr.
