NORWAY – Loretta Mary Rich, 83, of Mechanic Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 22 at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 27, 1922, the daughter of John and Margaret Ahern DeBiase. She graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1940.

She worked in retail in Maine and Connecticut. She married Chester Rich in 1969. Before moving back to Mechanic Falls, she made her home in Hartford, Conn. and Yarmouth.

She loved all sports, especially football (Patriots) and baseball (Red Sox). Her little dog Buffy Bear brought her lots of joy, love and comfort.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Tripp of Henderson, Nev.; a brother, John DeBiase of Auburn; sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Domenic, Charles and Palmi. Her family wants to thank her many caregivers especially her recent “Angels,” Marie and Tamara.
