LEWISTON – Richard R. Brousseau, 71, of Rideout Avenue, died Thursday evening, Feb. 23, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lewiston, Dec. 28, 1934, the son of the late Silva and Simonne Dick Brousseau. He was educated in local schools and was married June 2, 1962 to Bernice Rossignol. He was employed for 33 years at New England Telephone Co. (Verizon) prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Holy Family Church, where he served as an usher. He was a member of the Holy Family Bowling League, Lewiston Senior Citizens Bowling League, Holy Family Golf League, Lewiston Senior Citizens Golf League, Telephone Pioneers of America, Pastime Club, Kora Temple Shrine, Tranquil Lodge 29, 32nd-degree Master Mason, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Lewiston Lodge of Perfection, Auburn Council Princes of Jerusalem, H.H. Dickey Chapter of Rose Croix and a member of Crazy Cops Unit.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice of Lewiston; a stepson, Gary P. Long and his wife, Debra, of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Joline Landry and her husband, Raymond, of Lewiston and Lorraine Hart and her husband, Jim, of Florida; two brothers, Roland Brousseau and his wife, Rita, of Lewiston and Robert Brousseau and his wife, Anita of Sabattus; a half-brother, Tony Brousseau of Auburn; three grandchildren, Tina Clukey, Cherie Long and Jennifer Taylor; a great-grandson, Joshua Clukey; and many nieces and nephews.
