RANGELEY – Douglas H. White, 18, of Durham, died early Friday morning, Feb. 24, doing what he loved most – riding his snowmachine in Rangeley.

He was born June 18, 1987, in Portland, the son of Larry and Diane Lynn (Morton) White. He was a 2005 graduate of Brunswick High School, where he enjoyed being a member of VOC 10 and especially enjoyed his automotive classes.

Doug liked spending time with his family and working for his grandfather at the family garage in Rangeley.

He also enjoyed working with his very close friend, Rick Washburn, at Rick Washburn Siding in Durham.

He was a funny, fun-loving, outgoing young man who was always considered to be the “life of the party” and could be counted upon for always having a comment. He is remembered as a person who “never met a person he didn’t like; and never met one who didn’t like him.”

He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, and was especially passionate about hunting and snowmobiling. He always enjoyed going to his grandparents’ “fishing” camp.

Doug is survived by his parents, Diane and Dan Martin of Durham, and Larry White of Canton; one brother, Justin White of Durham; two sisters, Abbigail Martin of Durham and Anita Ward and her husband, Mark, and their son, Brandon, of Winslow; maternal grandparents, Donald and Leah Morton of Rangeley; very close “buds,” Josh Plowman and Mike McEnery, both of Durham; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
