NORWAY – Norway Parks and Recreation Director Debra Partridge has announced the registration dates for baseball, softball and tee-ball for the season.

Registration will take place at the Norway Town Office from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, and 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 11. The registration times are for Norway residents only.

New this year is a “Buy, Sell or Trade” table. Each organization will have used equipment and no-longer-used team shirts for sale. Parents can donate their no longer needed equipment to the baseball, softball or tee-ball organizations, or they can trade their equipment for what they need. For those people wishing to trade, they will need to stay on-site and complete their own transaction.

Baseball is for boys and girls age 6 to 12 as of July 1. Fees are $25 a player, $35 for two players and $50 a family. Babe Ruth is for ages 13 to 15, and the fee is $50 a player. The baseball family fee does not apply to Babe Ruth.

Softball is for girls age 7 to 18 as of Jan. 1. Fees are $25 a player, and a family fee of $50. Tee-ball is for boys and girls ages 4 to 7, and the fee is $20 a player.

Family fees do not crossover between baseball, softball and tee-ball. All organizations will have fundraising opportunities to raise money for the respective programs.

The Norway Recreation Commission is looking for positive coaches who have an understanding of how to teach the fundamentals of softball to Farm and Little League levels. All coaches will be required to attend training or have had training and allow criminal background checks.
