AUGUSTA – Marco F. Sularie “Sonny,” 72, of Augusta, passed away peacefully with family by his side in the evening, Feb. 24, after a lengthy illness at Glenridge-MaineGeneral Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Home in Augusta, where he had lived for the last couple of years of his life.
He was born in Augusta, on Oct. 27, 1933, a son of Louis and Madeline (Cross) Sularie of Boston, Mass.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, where he proudly served his country in the Army.
His military discipline earned him medals while serving in the Army. He was employed in many different fields over the years, including being a professional cook at many establishments, and at one time owned three restaurants. He was a salesman for years, winning many awards for his accomplishments.
He liked playing the guitar, and his favorite hobby was to go fishing. He will be sadly missed by all.
He is survived by his two sons, Larry Sularie and wife, Betty, of Vassalboro and Michael Sularie and fiance, Trish, of Waterville; daughter, Debby Sularie and companion, Michael Kartman, of Vassalboro; two brothers, Louis Trombetta and companion, Jeanne Fitzgerald, of Melbourne, Fla. and Mark Trombetta and wife, Evelyn, of Danvers, Mass.; one sister, Audrey Nickerson of Augusta; and Pauline of Vassalboro, (mother of their three children); 10 grandchildren, Nathan, Amy, Shawn, Amanda, Heather, Justin, Michael, Megan, Ryan and Amy P.; four great-grandchildren, Luke, Jordanna, Kylee and Caleb; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
