MINOT – Noella A. Burke, 80, of Oak Hill Road, Wales, died Saturday, Feb. 25 at the home of her daughter Lillian in Minot, where she had lived since March 2005.
She was born Dec. 23, 1925, in St. Camille, Quebec, a daughter to Joseph and Elda Boutin Audet. She attended local schools and graduated in 1973 from Lewiston High School graduating with her son, Michael Burke. She worked as a spinner at the Continental and Libbey mills prior to her retirement, and also worked at Marcotte Nursing Home as a CNA on weekends. She was an avid beano player and enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods on bus tours with her daughters. She also enjoyed browsing through garage sales with her sister, Florence, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Marguerite Rodrigue and her husband, Jacques, of Wethersfiled, Conn., Lillian Kent and her husband, Christopher, of Minot, Constance Goding and her husband, Michael, of Lewiston; four sons, Robert and his wife, Fay, of Powder Springs, Ga., Ronald Burke of Wales, Michael Burke and his wife, Michelle, of Livermore Falls and Richard and his wife, Alina, of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Gildea of Pennsylvania, Florence Audet of Auburn, and Lillianne Bourque of Lewiston; two brothers, Joseph Audet and his wife, Emily and Raymond Audet, both of Lewiston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brothers, Philip, Roland, Claude Audet; and a sister, Bernadette Gunter.
