HULETTS LANDING, N.Y. (AP) – A 72-year-old Vermont man died in Lake George Tuesday after his all-terrain vehicle broke through the ice, state police said.
The victim, whose identity wasn’t immediately released, arrived for ice fishing about 7 a.m. and rode his ATV about 400 feet from the shore. The ice was only a few inches thick.
A group fishing at Huletts Landing noticed a hole in the ice around noon. Rescue crews located the victim’s body and ATV in 20 feet of water.
Huletts Landing is 70 miles north of Albany.
