FARMINGTON – A Fayette man was sentenced Tuesday to serve four years in prison with all but nine months and one day suspended for unlawful sexual contact with two children ages 3 and 4 last April.

Ronald R. Gordon Jr., 37, pleaded guilty to two charges of unlawful sexual contact earlier this month and was sentenced by Justice Joseph Jabar on Tuesday at Franklin County Superior Court.

Gordon of 700 Campground Road was also ordered to serve four years of probation and to have no contact with the victims or victims’ family. He was also ordered to have no contact directly or indirectly with children under the age of 16 unless a family member is present.

The incident happened in Jay while the two children were with a baby sitter for a few hours, police said last year.

The children’s mother became suspicious when the children appeared upset upon her return home. The mother questioned the children and then notified Jay police.

The children’s mother spoke during Tuesday’s hearing.

“The way you hurt my children was a selfish act,” she said, reading from a statement to Gordon and the court. She also told him he took their innocence and filled their heads with junk.

Gordon’s attorney, Woody Hanstein, said Tuesday that Gordon has accepted responsibility for his actions.
