LEWISTON – WorkMed has named Louise Morang as its new clinical manager and marketing coordinator. Morang has specialized in occupational health for more than 20 years and is a board certified occupational health nurse.
She received her diploma as a registered nurse from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She is certified by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation and by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health as a spirometry technician. Other certifications include ergonomic evaluations, TB testing and interpretation, and HIV pre- and post-test counseling. She is a qualified trainer for the OSHA blood-borne pathogen standard.
Morang was the health coordinator at Maine Yankee for 14 years before coming to WorkMed. In a volunteer capacity, she serves as a committee chairwoman for the Maine Association of Occupational Health Nurses and is on the Board of Directors of the United Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.
She is a member of a legislative committee to work on data based prevention of work-related injuries.
WorkMed provides a range of preventive and occupational medical services to more than 400 employers and their employees in Androscoggin County with occupational medicine, physical and occupational therapy, X-ray and lab services. It is affiliated with St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.
