LEWISTON – The art work of Tom Reichard and Denise McKew will be featured during March at Central Maine Medical Center, sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association.

A relative newcomer to the Lewiston-Auburn area, Reichard is director of human resources for Central Maine Healthcare. He has been an avid photographer for as long as he can remember, but really learned how to create images that make a lasting impression and win ribbons during his active membership in the Merrimack Valley Camera Club in North Andover, Mass.

Reichard focuses his lenses on natural settings in coastal Maine, flowers in his garden and urban architecture, a few of his favorite subjects. His work has appeared in a high school yearbook, photo galleries and brochures. This is his second showing in the CMMC gallery. He has been invited to speak and present his work to the Auburn Art Club this month.

Although Reichard has focused much of his work in film photography, he is enjoying the opportunities that digital photography affords him. He has taken on a variety of photographic projects and his work is produced in matted, framed and gift card forms.

Reichard and his wife live in Auburn. To find out more about his work, e-mail reichard@gwi.net.

McKew has been painting for approximately 15 years, initially working in oils, but more recently focusing on acrylics. In 1994, she earned an AA in fine arts from the University of Maine at Augusta. She enjoys painting flowers in a large graphic style, using lines and colors to create depth and motion. McKew lives in Lewiston with her husband, Mike, and their cat.

The Woman’s Hospital Association supports Central Maine Medical Center and its patients by raising money to fund special projects. Anyone interested in membership or the monthly artist showings should phone the association at 795-2295.
