HADLEY, Mass. – Bates College junior Meg Coffin was recognized as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Player of the Year. Sophomore teammates Sarah Barton and Matia Kostakis also earned league honors.
A second-team All-NESCAC player one year ago, Coffin becomes the second consecutive player from Bates to receive top honors after Olivia Zurek won it last season.

Barton is fifth in Division III assists per game (6.9), and was NESCAC Co-Rookie of the year in 2004-05 with Kostakis. While she missed the team’s first seven games due to a foot injury, Kostakis made an immediate impact was she did hit the floor. The 6-0 forward was Bates’ second-leading scorer (12.1 ppg) and rebounder (7.2 rpg), plus she shot an impressive .806 from the line.
