To celebrate African-American history, Carmen Dufresne and Molly Dorner’s fourth-grade students at Pettingill School in Lewiston researched and made posters of African-Americans who reflected a wide range of educational, artistic, historical and professional expertise. Pictured above are Cody Lagasse and Desirae Roy with their projects. In addition, students wrote research papers on their chosen person and presented an oral report to their classmates and their parents on a day of celebration on Feb. 17.
