After competing in statewide qualifying meets, several local students have been chosen to attend national speech and debate competitions this spring and summer.

The National Forensic League competition will be held June 17-24 in Texas. Local students attending are: Cassie Jensen, Ashley McWhorter and Rachel Spilecki from Lewiston High School; Megan Deveau, Chris Keene and Vanessa Ouellette from Edward Little High School; and Amanda Gray, Zachary Hews, Jess Moser and Alexz Wight from Poland Regional High School.

Ken Bundy, Bryant Cyr, Josh Harris, Kaitlynn Levine, Chelsea Peterson, Sam Smith and Eli Whittaker have been chosen as alternates. All are from Poland Regional High School.

The Catholic Forensic League competition will be held May 25-29 in Illinois. Local students attending are: Cassie Jensen and Rachel Spilecki from Lewiston High School; and Ken Bundy, Bryant Cyr, Amanda Gray, Zachary Hews, Kaitlynn Levine, Jess Moser, Chelsea Peterson, Josh Quint and Alyson Sylvester from Poland Regional High School.

Lewiston High School students Isla Hansen and Ashley McWhorter have been chosen as alternates.
