I enjoyed the article, printed Feb. 28, about a whole Indonesian civilization that was lost after a volcano erupted in 1815. I wonder why the story was not told sooner. As many as 88,000 people, plus their domestic animals, lost their lives. Was it not as important as the tsunami of 2004? Or Hurricane Katrina? A long time ago, maybe 1963 or 1964, I read a book that concerned the year without a summer.

I love history, and not just about the U.S.A. I love to learn about the world’s history. I wish children could learn about Earth’s history, then they would not believe in the crazy stuff about apes being our ancestors.

By the way, I believe that God, in the beginning, created everything there is today.

Our Earth is very fragile. We should be careful . We all have to live on this Earth until God calls us to himself.
