CASTINE – Three area students were recently named to the dean’s list at Maine Maritime Academy for outstanding academic achievement in the first semester of the academic year. Students earn a grade point average of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Andrew Goyette, Lewiston, a member of the class of 2006, is majoring in marine engineering technology. He is a graduate of Leavitt Area High School, Turner.

Carrie Plourde, Poland, a member of the class of 2006, is majoring in marine transportation operations. She is a graduate of Poland Regional High School.

Shawn Labonte, Sabattus, a member of the class of 2008, is majoring in power engineering technology. He is a graduate of Oak Hill High School, Wales.
