AUBURN – The Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. The board of directors will meet at 10. Tickets, $7, will be on sale at the March 8 and 22 meetings for the Easter ham dinner, April 12 with Lucien Marcoux as head chef. There will be the usual raffle table, and after a bag lunch, bingo will be played.

Sixty-six members attended the Feb. 22 meeting under the direction of Merry Strout, president.

Prior to the meeting, Katie Paiton, outreach coordinator for Western Maine Transportation Services Inc., gave a description of the transportation services offered by her organization. She explained the driving opportunities with reimbursement and covering mileage costs to any senior citizen desiring to make additional money during their retirement years. The organization is recruiting new drivers.

The agency offers free Mainecare transportation and door-to-door service seven days a week. Buses run once a month, with drop-off at the Maine Mall and the Christmas Tree Shop for $5. Pick-up is at Auburn Park and Recreation Dept., 48 Pettingill Park.

The next trip will be at 9 a.m. Friday April 14, returning at 4 p.m. Reservations may be made by phoning Charlotte Grant at 782-3681 or Caroline Chapman at 782-5802, who is also available at the First Auburn Senior Citizens meetings. Grant is available at Robin Dow meetings.

Robin Dow Seniors Trip Chairwoman Evelyn Sawin said she is taking reservations for a trip to Bangor on April 7 with dinner at the Weathervane in Brewer. Cost is $48 for transportation and dinner. Those who wish may attend the flower show, Hollywood Slots or shopping. If interested see Sawin at meetings or phone her at 998-4577.

Attendance prize winners were Alwin Strout and Mariette Timberlake; pot of gold, Martha Goodwin, Mary Tassinari and Guy Donohue. Bingo was played after lunch.
