Rumford caucus

RUMFORD – Robert Cameron, Rumford Republican Committee chairman, has called a caucus for 5 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at 349 South Rumford Road.

Republicans will elect delegates to the state convention at the Augusta Civic Center on May 5 and 6. Other business will include organization of the local committee and nomination of members to the Oxford County Republication Committee.

All local Republications are invited.

Final trek

BETHEL – Bonnie Pooley and Mac Davis will describe what it is like to plan and lead canoe trips in Maine’s remote lakes at the final program in the Intrepid Trekkers Travel Series presented by Western Mountains Senior College. The program will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, at the West Parish Congregational Church, Garland Chapel, Church Street.

Quilters to meet

RUMFORD – Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. A spring fabric swap will be held. Those wishing to participate are asked to bring six half-inch squares cut from one yard of washed 100 percent cotton spring-colored fabric. Show and tell is also welcome.
