Gov. James B. Longley Elementary School sixth-graders raised and donated $500 to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. Eric Lynes, left, of the Red Cross visited the school to learn about the fundraisers that enabled Japheth Taylor, right, top bottle drive collector, teachers Linda Adkins and April Gagnon and 27 fellow classmates to make the donation. Students participated in a Read-a-thon, used book sale, bottle drive and collected donations. The Lewiston students are holding a bottle drive for another local charity.
