On Thursday, February 2 St. Peter and Sacred Heart School had a special visitor. Joe Cupo from WCSH 6 came in to talk to grades 3-8 about weather. Mrs. Donna Sawyer, our principal, thought it would be a great way to celebrate Student Appreciation Day and Groundhog’s Day. Mr. Cupo told us some very interesting information about his job and his life. He is originally from New York. Mr. Cupo went to Hofstra University to become an Earth Science teacher. He later went to college because he found that he “loved weather” and wanted to study meteorology. He graduated from the University of Albany in 1978 with a degree in meteorology. In 1979 he became the meteorologist for WCSH 6 and he has been there ever since.

The students really enjoyed Joe Cupo coming and answering the questions that they had about weather. Mr. Cupo also enjoyed all the students and the questions that they asked him. All the students from grades 3-8 would like to thank Mr. Cupo for coming and talking to us about weather.
