AUBURN – Police are advising neighbors and school officials that a convicted pedophile is moving into a Turner Street neighborhood after his release from prison.

Probation officials said 62-year-old Charles Shepherd from Androscoggin County is considered a high risk for re-offending after serving time for molesting a girl under the age of 10.

Shepherd has moved into a building at 257 Turner St., police said. In June 2004, he was convicted of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact in Androscoggin County. Shepherd spent more than a year in prison and was released in February.
