LISBON – Friends of the Lisbon Library sponsored a visit from two MAINEiacs hockey players, Jonathan Bernier and Eric Castonguay, on Feb. 22. The pair presented souvenir programs and gave a demonstration of their hockey gear for 30 children and their parents.

The two men read a book about a hockey fan who gave from her heart. The young people asked questions about the players’ lives and the game.

The team mascot, Lewy, also stopped by to have his picture taken with the children. Door prizes were given and Savannah Porter won the grand prize, a full-sized hockey stick signed by this year’s team members. Robin Tupper and her son, Zack, helped with the visit.

The Friends will host an afternoon with Magician Peter Boie at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18, at the Lisbon Teen Center. Call the library at 353-6564 to reserve a spot or for more information.
