FARMINGTON – How will Maine meet its energy needs and, at the same time, protect sensitive and priceless natural resources: the Maine coast, forests and mountains?
Beth Nagusky, Maine’s director of energy independence and security, will give the state’s perspective on the questions at a Western Maine Audubon Society program to be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, in Room C 23, Roberts Learning Center, University of Maine at Farmington.
Nagusky has worked on energy issues for nearly 20 years in Maine. Prior to joining the Baldacci administration, she was the executive director of the Independent Energy Producers of Maine, an association of Maine’s renewable power producers.
Other related positions she has held include staff attorney with the Natural Resources Council of Maine, Maine’s largest environmental advocacy organization, and staff attorney and hearing examiner with the Maine Public Utilities Commission.
The program is free and open to the public.
